McAlpin Tanner Marcotte Federal Court Victory

Partner Richard McAlpin, George Florez of Royal Caribbean, and Associate Stephanie Cardelle successfully defended a maritime passenger negligence claim before Honorable Judge Beth Bloom. Plaintiff initiated the proceeding, alleging that onboard elevators constituted a dangerous condition and caused her damages when they hit her as she exited an elevator. Plaintiff alleged over $700,000.00 in medical expenses and demanded pain and suffering.

After a week-long jury trial, the defense successfully established that Plaintiff was mostly at fault for her incident and the jury found that Plaintiff was 90% at fault. Plaintiff was ultimately awarded only $600.00.
