Clara Tomé is an associate at McAlpin Florez Marcotte, where she focuses her practice on maritime litigation. Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, Clara’s interest in coastal and environmental issues sparked her interest in maritime law.
Clara received her Juris Doctor and LLM in Maritime Law from University of Miami School of Law in 2025. During her time in law school, Clara was a student intern of the Miami Law Human Rights Clinic and a member of the Charles C. Papy, Jr. Moot Court Board. Passionate about legal and oral advocacy, Clara was a finalist in the Robert Orseck Memorial Moot Court Competition hosted by the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division in June 2024. She was also a quarterfinalist and recipient of the runner-up Best Brief award at the National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition hosted by Pace University in February 2025. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, with a double major in International Development and Environmental Studies and a minor in Portuguese. In her free time, Clara enjoys reading, bird watching, and playing with her dog.
